Understand the film categories
LLumar window tint starting at $295. All LLumar lines are available. Your written quote confirms the exact series, shade, vehicle coverage, removal charges and installed total.
Dyed, carbon and ceramic are different product categories. LLumar identifies ATC as dyed window film, not carbon. ATC uses an integrated charcoal dye for color stability, and LLumar states that it blocks more than 99% of UV rays.
LLumar's ceramic range includes CTX, IRX, FormulaOne Pinnacle and FormulaOne Stratos. Compare the exact series and shade for heat rejection, visible light transmission and reflectance; the category name is not a performance specification.
Ask PLM to confirm the exact film available for your vehicle in the written quote. A carbon-tint comparison is not a representation that ATC is carbon or that every listed manufacturer series is currently stocked.
Compare heat rejection without the hype
Ceramic film can reduce solar heat entering through treated glass, but the result depends on the exact film, shade, glass, coverage and conditions. Compare total solar energy rejection (TSER) for the same test basis. Infrared-rejection figures can use different wavelength ranges and are not interchangeable with TSER. No fixed cabin-temperature reduction, cool-down time, energy saving or EV-range gain is promised.
UV rejection is a separate measurement. Manufacturer UV claims do not mean that tint eliminates skin-health risks or replaces other sun protection. No SPF equivalence is claimed.

Confirm the product and price in writing
Request a written quote identifying the film manufacturer, series, shade, windows covered and installed price. Confirm existing-film removal, taxes, preparation, availability, completion estimate and warranty terms before authorizing work. Do not compare different film categories or coverage packages as if they were the same product.
Use the package pricing page as a starting point, then confirm the exact film and coverage. A category label is not a binding installed quote.
Texas tint rules for each window
The following summary is based on Texas DPS window-tint guidance. Film shade alone is not a compliance test.
- Front side windows: at least 25% VLT and no more than 25% luminous reflectance, measured with film and original glass together, unless an applicable exemption applies.
- Rear side windows: exempt from these Texas tint restrictions; this is not a sedan-versus-SUV distinction.
- Rear window: unrestricted only with an outside mirror on each side giving a view at least 200 feet behind the vehicle. Without those mirrors, at least 25% VLT and no more than 25% reflectance apply.
- Windshield: the strip must be above the AS-1 line; if there is no line, it must end five inches below the top. Combined strip/glass VLT must be at least 25%, reflectance no more than 25%; no red, amber or blue. Clear, untinted UV film is separately allowed anywhere on the windshield.
For a medical exception to the front-side darkness requirement, DPS calls for a signed statement from a licensed physician or licensed optometrist identifying the driver or occupant and explaining the medical necessity. Keep the statement in the vehicle for law-enforcement review. DPS stopped issuing Window Tint Exemption Certificates on January 1, 2019. A customer-signed shop waiver is not a medical exception or permission to use otherwise noncompliant tint on public roads.
Verify the exact film, glass and installation before choosing a shade. A shop waiver or a nominal film percentage does not guarantee legality. Read the complete Texas tint guide.
Dyed film is not automatically low quality
LLumar ATC is a dyed film with an integrated charcoal hue designed for durability and color stability. It should not be described as carbon, nor should all dyed films be said to turn purple within a fixed number of summers.
Evaluate the manufacturer's published specifications and warranty for the exact series. No film is represented here as permanently immune to every kind of damage or aging.

Plan the installation and aftercare
Installation time depends on vehicle glass, coverage, film availability and whether old film must be removed. Confirm your appointment and completion estimate with the shop; same-day service is not guaranteed by submitting a quote request.
Follow the care instructions for the installed film. Confirm when to roll down the windows, clean the glass and return for an inspection; cure time varies with conditions.
Select by vehicle and use
Compare your budget, glare concerns, parking conditions and glass coverage. Verify roof-glass and windshield compatibility for the exact vehicle and film before installation.

Know what your quote includes
Request a written quote identifying the film manufacturer, series, shade, windows covered and installed price. Confirm existing-film removal, taxes, preparation, availability, completion estimate and warranty terms before authorizing work. Do not compare different film categories or coverage packages as if they were the same product.
LLumar describes its automotive tint warranty as a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty, subject to written terms. FormulaOne products have separate transferable coverage with restrictions. Do not assume every film warranty transfers, covers accidental damage or guarantees free replacement in every case. Confirm the exact product warranty, eligibility, registration requirements and any separate PLM workmanship terms in the quote.

Window tint questions, answered
Is LLumar ATC carbon film?
No. LLumar identifies ATC as dyed window film with an integrated charcoal dye. A carbon product is a separate category; confirm the manufacturer and series in your quote.
How should I compare ceramic and value-tier tint?
Ceramic film can reduce solar heat entering through treated glass, but the result depends on the exact film, shade, glass, coverage and conditions. Compare total solar energy rejection (TSER) for the same test basis. Infrared-rejection figures can use different wavelength ranges and are not interchangeable with TSER. No fixed cabin-temperature reduction, cool-down time, energy saving or EV-range gain is promised.
Does all dyed tint turn purple?
No. A blanket claim is inaccurate. LLumar describes ATC's integrated charcoal dye as designed for durability and color stability. Compare the specific product and its written warranty.
What tint shade is legal in Texas?
Texas requires at least 25% visible light transmission (VLT) and no more than 25% luminous reflectance on the front side windows, measured with the film and original glass together, unless an applicable exemption applies. Rear side windows are exempt from these tint restrictions. The rear window has no tint restriction only when outside mirrors on both sides provide a view at least 200 feet behind the vehicle; otherwise the 25% transmission minimum and 25% reflectance maximum apply. Windshield rules are separate: a regulated upper strip or clear, untinted UV film, not any film advertised as light or ceramic. Read Texas DPS guidance before choosing a film.
Can I tint the full windshield?
DPS permits sunscreening devices above the AS-1 line; if there is no AS-1 line, they must end five inches below the top of the windshield. The strip and original glass together must transmit at least 25% of visible light and have no more than 25% luminous reflectance. Red, amber and blue are prohibited. DPS also permits clear, untinted UV film anywhere on the windshield without a medical exemption. A 70%, 80% or 25% film label, or the word ceramic, does not by itself establish that a full-windshield installation qualifies. Texas DPS guidance explains the distinction.
What warranty applies?
LLumar describes its automotive tint warranty as a manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty, subject to written terms. FormulaOne products have separate transferable coverage with restrictions. Do not assume every film warranty transfers, covers accidental damage or guarantees free replacement in every case. Confirm the exact product warranty, eligibility, registration requirements and any separate PLM workmanship terms in the quote.
Does ceramic tint guarantee more EV range?
No. Tint can reduce incoming solar heat, but range depends on weather, route, vehicle and HVAC use. No percentage improvement or financial payback is promised.
Is old-film removal free or installation guaranteed the same day?
Do not assume either. Confirm removal charges, preparation, film availability and the completion estimate in the written quote.
