Window tint

How long does window tint take?
Installation time depends on the vehicle, coverage, preparation and any old-film removal. The shop confirms availability and a completion estimate after assessing the job.
What’s the Texas window tint law?

Texas requires at least 25% visible light transmission (VLT) and no more than 25% luminous reflectance on the front side windows, measured with the film and original glass together, unless an applicable exemption applies. Rear side windows are exempt from these tint restrictions. The rear window has no tint restriction only when outside mirrors on both sides provide a view at least 200 feet behind the vehicle; otherwise the 25% transmission minimum and 25% reflectance maximum apply. Windshield rules are separate: a regulated upper strip or clear, untinted UV film, not any film advertised as light or ceramic. Texas DPS guidance

Ceramic tint or carbon tint — which is better for San Antonio?

Dyed, carbon and ceramic are distinct film categories. LLumar ATC is dyed film, not carbon. Compare the exact series and shade for solar heat rejection, UV performance and warranty; confirm the product available for your vehicle in the written quote. LLumar ATC details

Do you install to spec or as dark as I want?

For a medical exception to the front-side darkness requirement, DPS calls for a signed statement from a licensed physician or licensed optometrist identifying the driver or occupant and explaining the medical necessity. Keep the statement in the vehicle for law-enforcement review. DPS stopped issuing Window Tint Exemption Certificates on January 1, 2019. A customer-signed shop waiver is not a medical exception or permission to use otherwise noncompliant tint on public roads. Texas DPS requirements

Can you tint the windshield?

DPS permits sunscreening devices above the AS-1 line; if there is no AS-1 line, they must end five inches below the top of the windshield. The strip and original glass together must transmit at least 25% of visible light and have no more than 25% luminous reflectance. Red, amber and blue are prohibited. DPS also permits clear, untinted UV film anywhere on the windshield without a medical exemption. A 70%, 80% or 25% film label, or the word ceramic, does not by itself establish that a full-windshield installation qualifies. Texas DPS guidance applies. Confirm the exact coverage and installed price in your quote.

Paint protection film (PPF)

What is PPF and how is it different from a ceramic coating?

PPF is a thick, self-healing polyurethane film that takes physical impacts — rock chips, road debris, keys, bug etching, car wash swirl. Ceramic is a chemical hardness layer that resists chemical bonding, not physical impacts. Most premium builds run both: PPF on high-impact surfaces (front clip, rockers, door edges), ceramic over the top for hydrophobic properties.

What coverage levels do you offer?

PPF is quoted for your vehicle and selected coverage. Your written quote identifies the film, covered panels, edges, preparation and exclusions. Confirm partial versus full-panel coverage and any headlights or A-pillars separately.

Do you install color-change PPF?

Yes. Full-body color-change PPF has a self-healing top-coat, 10-year warranty on qualifying films, and is fully reversible. It protects the paint the same way clear PPF does, while giving you a new color.

How long does PPF last?

Qualifying films carry a 10-year manufacturer warranty. Real-world life is 8–12 years depending on sun exposure and wash care. Self-healing top-coat means light swirl and hairline scratches disappear with heat.

Can I bring my own film?

No. Warranty coverage requires trained installation and authorized product handling. Every material we install is inventory we own and stand behind.

Ceramic coating

Ceramic coating options: compare product, preparation and care

Ceramic coating is quoted for your vehicle, paint condition and preparation needs. Your written quote identifies the coating product, included preparation, treated surfaces, maintenance requirements and applicable warranty terms.

What’s included in the ceramic price?

The shop assesses the existing finish before quoting preparation and paint correction. The written scope specifies any decontamination, polishing and surface-specific treatment; these are not assumed to be included.

Do I still have to wash my car after ceramic?

Yes — ceramic is not a “never wash” product. It’s a chemical barrier that makes washing easier, blocks contamination bonding, and holds gloss longer. Recommended: rinseless or two-bucket wash every 2–3 weeks.

Can you coat wheels and calipers?

Yes — wheels and calipers add-on · Vehicle-specific quote

Vinyl wraps

How long does a wrap last?

Cast vinyl (3M, Avery, Inozetek premium) carries a 5–7 year manufacturer warranty for vertical surfaces and 2–3 years for horizontal surfaces (hood, roof). Real-world San Antonio life is 5–7 years with covered parking.

Is a wrap reversible?

Yes — cast vinyl removes cleanly without damaging paint, provided the paint is factory or a quality respray in good condition. This is why we only install cast (not calendared) vinyl.

Can you wrap over damaged paint?

We evaluate every panel before quoting. Small chips, minor scratches, and light swirl can be wrapped over. Rust, peeling clearcoat, or aftermarket paint that’s already failing cannot be wrapped — the vinyl adhesive will pull the failing paint off during removal.

What’s the difference between a vinyl wrap and PPF?

PPF is protection with an optional color-change finish. Vinyl is color-change with minimal protection. If protection matters, PPF is the answer. If you want the widest color palette and cheapest full color change, vinyl.
