"Am I paying premium for cheap film?"Ask about current tint appointment availability. PLM will confirm your vehicle, selected coverage, price, and installation date before the appointment is finalized.
"I don't want to wait a month with a baking cabin"Texas normally requires at least 25% VLT and no more than 25% reflectance through front-side film and glass together. A medical exception requires a signed physician or optometrist statement, not a shop-filed DPS certificate. Review DPS guidance.

Dyed and ceramic are distinct film categories. LLumar describes ATC as dyed film and its ceramic range as using nano-ceramic technology to target solar heat, including infrared energy. Compare the exact film and shade using total solar energy rejection and the manufacturer’s defined infrared measurement; neither metric guarantees a fixed cabin-temperature change.

Confirm the installed product, eligibility, registration requirements, exclusions and any separate PLM workmanship terms in the written quote and warranty document.
Texas requires at least 25% visible light transmission (VLT) and no more than 25% luminous reflectance on the front side windows, measured with the film and original glass together, unless an applicable exemption applies. Rear side windows are exempt from these tint restrictions. The rear window has no tint restriction only when outside mirrors on both sides provide a view at least 200 feet behind the vehicle; otherwise the 25% transmission minimum and 25% reflectance maximum apply. Windshield rules are separate: a regulated upper strip or clear, untinted UV film, not any film advertised as light or ceramic. DPS rules include the clear, untinted UV-film windshield exception; a light ceramic label alone is not enough.
Tesla tint is quoted for the selected LLumar film, shade and glass coverage. Windshield and panoramic-roof work are quoted separately when suitable. The general $295 entry point is not a guaranteed Tesla or ceramic-series package price.
