Start with the actual product
A duration label alone does not tell you what is being installed. Ask for the coating manufacturer, product name, intended surfaces and application instructions. PLM quotes ceramic work for the vehicle rather than publishing fixed-duration package tiers.
Specify preparation
The existing finish determines the proposed cleaning, decontamination and paint correction. Confirm each step and its price in the written quote. More polishing is not automatically better; paint condition and safe correction limits matter.
Confirm treated surfaces
Identify painted panels, wheels, glass, trim and interior materials separately. A coating appropriate for one surface is not automatically suitable for another. Coating over PPF, vinyl or matte finishes requires compatibility confirmation.
Read the warranty and care requirements
Ask for the exact written warranty, eligibility, exclusions and maintenance obligations. A warranty term is not a guarantee that every vehicle will maintain the same appearance or water behavior for that period. Obtain any separate workmanship terms from the shop.
Compare the complete quote
Compare the same vehicle, preparation, product and treated surfaces. Include any removal work, optional treatments and future maintenance charges. Avoid cost-per-year calculations based on an unverified lifespan.
Choose for your use
Tell the shop about parking exposure, wash routine, driving and ownership plans. Request a vehicle-specific quote on the ceramic coating page, and discuss PPF versus ceramic coating if impact protection is a priority.
